Now I’m a Victim of Huxley Associates Spam
I get a lot of Spam. Most of it I never see. The other day I was reading a story about the disreputable recruitment agency Huxley Associates, and today, out of the Blue, I got this:
![]()
Jones, Craig
www.huxley.com Hi Ian,
This CV speaks for itself !!!!!!!!!1
Kind regards,
Craig Jones
IT Division
Huxley Associates
0161 233 5700
c.jones@huxley.com
http://www.huxley.com
Now, I have a real problem with this sort of unsolicited and crappy mail when it’s sent from real companies based in Manchester. I’m not the only one either.
All I can say is that if I’m ever hiring or looking and these guys are involved, they’ve got no chance of getting past the front door. Huxley Associates are spammers, and that makes them scum. Nuff said.

Hi Ian,
I can see that you don’t like spam and I know this is sort of comment spam, but I would like to get in touch with you about a new electronics product that you and PlusNet may be interested in.
Can you reply and give me the address where I can reach you about this?
Regards
Jeremy Penston
Hi Ian,
I worked here, and I found sending the speculative emails are just as bad as receiving them!!!
I am now with a recruitment agency that does not allow these types of emails to be sent, which is a god send, I can actually do my job properly now!
I have been receiving spam form Huxley associates for years now. Always attched CV’s of candidates that are completely irrelevant to the business I do. I have asked on numerous occasions to be removed from their list by replying to their spam. Unfortunately they never remove you from the list. The last correspondense I had with them I sent a nasty reply only to receive a complaint from them about the manner in which I replied. So they do actually read the emails, however they are just scum and never remove you from their spam lists. In my opinion this is a bogus operation, and I have warned them I would start posting to forums if they do not remove me from their email lists. So this is my first post and I would guess as they are complete idiots then it won’t be my last. Even if they had the ideal candisate for me I would never in a million years do business with them. They are complete unethical, dumb stupid Ars* Wip**.
Just got an email from them on my ‘personal’ business email address on which I never receive spam. So, I am VERY curious how they got my mail address. They probably bought it from some business partner of them with whom I regretfully did business with I’m afraid.
Hi Ian,
My name is Ben Robinson and I work as a Manager for Huxley Associates, someone sent me the link to your blog and it made pretty awkward reading.
Let me start by saying that yours is not the only complaint that we’ve received regarding the guy who sent this email, the matter was looked into and he’s no longer with the business.
I agree that this kind of thing is unacceptable and I can assure you that we do take steps to ensure that the speculative marketing material we send is relevant and is not spam. We never buy email adresses from 3rd parties and when a new address is added to our system the recipient is sent an automated email offering them the option to “opt-out” or receiving any mail from us.
In relation to receiving irrelevant CV’s, any manager added to the system is given “codes” which denote which skills sets that particular manager recruits, this is designed to target the CV’s and ensure they are relevant. If this isn’t happening then it will be due to Consultants coding managers incorrectly initially. Consultants should correct these codes on request.
I would be happy for anyone with any genuine complain to contact me directly on 0161 227 4401 and I will do my best to sort out any issues.
We sucessfully recruited 5 PHP developers for Plusnet through 2007/8, so we can deliver, but I agree this type of mail is counter productive and does not do us any favours.
Ian, I’d be happy to discuss this with you further either face to face or over the phone, you have my details.
Sas, As I mentioned, we never “buy” email addresses, and we do not share data with any other companies. I’d be happy to remove you from our mailing list if the email you received isn’t relevant to you.
Rob, I’d meet you (as long as you dont call me an Ars* Wi**) to try and halt your one man internet campaign or remove your details if you call me.
Regards
Ben Robinson
Huxley Associates Manchester
Me too.
Ben Robinson’s is completely bogus. A quick look in my spam folder (I now have a rule set for all huxley.com) reveals at least four huxley.com addresses engaged in this spamming.
Absolutely counter-productive of course, I will never do business with them.
I assure you I’m not bugus, I’ve been checking the blog reasonably regularly for responses, and I’ve already had a couple of people contact me via this site so I can solve their issues. (its very simple to guess my address if you receive mail from us) feel free to contact me on the number above and I can assure you don’t get any more mails from us.
It really is that simple. We don’t want to be seen as spamming people, so drop me a line and i’ll get it sorted.
Huxley Associates have been spamming me for over a year. At no point have I registered with them or signed up for any emails. The particular email address they send spam to me on is only shown on my websites contact page. It is only used for initial contact and it requires entry of a captcha word to work. They must have simply harvested it directly from my website, but because they don’t enter the captcha all their crap just gets automatically deleted. There is usually something in the spam log every day from them. I certainly wouldn’t want to deal with a company that just blasts copies of CV’s out to anybody and everybody. They sound like a very dodgy company to get involved with either as a recruiter or as someone seeking a placement.
My guess is they run bots scavenging the web for email addresses on websites that offer IT services. I changed the email address on my contact page a few months ago and Huxley immediately detected it and started using the new address.
Following on from my post. Mr Ben Robinson - if you are for real, you may want to have words with “Batters, Christopher” c.batters@huxley.com who is the most prolific spammer in your company and sends random CV’s to me on a daily basis. There are others too from your domain but he is the worst. I’d never heard of Huxley Associates until I started getting spam from you! During an idle moment today I wondered if anyone else got such spam. A quick Google search shows I’m obviously not alone. Despite your conciliatory remarks above, spamming CV’s out to dubiously acquired email addresses seems to be common practice for your company.
I’ve also never opted out of receiving such spam because I never opted in in the first place! It is never a good idea to try to un-subscribe from unsolicited spam, so I have simply blacklisted your domain.
David,
Yes, I’m for real. Apologies. I can get this sorted for you, but I need more details from you, your full name, or at least the address which is receiving the mail. you can email me directly at b.robinson@huxley.com and I’ll make sure you dont receive anything else.
Ben
Ben Robinson
I appreciate Huxley spam CV’s to so many companies that you don’t know which one of the many recipients I am. However, you don’t need to take any action. As I previously mentioned, my company has blacklisted huxley.com so all emails from your domain are now automatically deleted anyway.
Hi David,
Its less to do with the number of people we send CV’s to, and more to do with the fact that we have offices in 7 Countries across 3 Continents, so as I’m sure you can appreciate, we have more than one Client on our database called “David”. So yes, it is difficult for me to identify you individually.
I find it a little suprising that you find these emails such an inconvenience that would take the time to Google search nagative stories on us and post to this blog (twice), but then not want to actually solve the issue that you seem so intent on complaining about? But thats your prerogative I guess.
All the best
Ben
Ben,
I’m not involved in any of this directly and thankfully have not been a victim of the spamming (atleast as yet). But on reading this blog top-down and especially your replies, something intrigues me.
Every single comment that you have made, you have promised to remove the individual concerned from your mailing list if they provide you with their mail id. But, never once have you said that you will not stop sending out unsolicited mails. Why is it so? I appreciate you want to sort things out, but then why get them into a mess in the first place?
In the previous post you complain about David not revealing his mail id to you, but him posting on this blog twice. Isn’t it fair on his part to think that after all the spamming Huxley Associates have been doing, what is the guarantee that you will not add his mail id on further more spamming lists?
Hope you get the point. If you want to make a difference, and change the image, how about starting with “Stopping the Spamming Business”
Regards,
A No one !!
Huxley associates are a joke. I work as a contractor in Manchester and they send CV’s to my email address all the time which is funny because I am not an employer. I don’t know where they found my email address from. I have never used Huxley but I don’t mind their spam, because it is amusing to read other people’s CV’s and it gives me some ideas for my own CV. One thing is sure; I will not use Huxley when I look for my next contract.
I’m a IT Recruitment Consultant with one of Huxleys competitors!!! Even i get spammed with CVs!!
I started receiving email from Huxley 2 years ago when I was a Computer Technician. It then stopped for a while but since January started receiving them again.
I have never ever registered with this company.
As a company, we use only one recruitment service. Now that I’m IT Manager, if I want a new person I have to go through HR.
I didn’t want to but I replied to one of the emails recently and requested to be removed from their mailing list.
Surprisingly, the next day I had 4 very random job offers from companies around the world (there was nothing in the emails to dictate as spam so they came through).
I too have now added @huxley.com to our companie’s black list.
Hurah for spam filters.
In regards to my above post, Matthew Church is the offender.
m.church@huxley.com
Does anyone have the name & snailmail for Huxley’s CEO? I’d like to write to him/her personally and explain why their company isn’t good enough for me to be associated with.
I also blacklist Huxley to stop their relentless drivel.
However, it must work as they are unfortunately still in business.
This is one of two unprofessional recruitement companies that spam me despite frequent requests not to. I would never do business with either of them as this only goes to show how untrustworthy and ammateur they are. I was going to copy their CEO in on a complaint, but they are so poor I doubt it would do any good.
Pass the word on to your fellow associates. “Don’t use Huxley”.
My new Outlook delete-on-arrival rule is running as we speak.
We blacklisted Huxley through Messagelabs-Services a few years ago. Now that we got a new filter i had to blacklist them again
Well just ignore what you cannot stop anyway. By the way you also can blacklist the whole sthree.com and sthreertn.com. Also the same guys behind that.
