Did I write this?
Someone just pointed out this page about me. It’s odd that I don’t ever remember doing this, although it’s certainly my somewhat over egged writing style.
How very bizzarre.
My football team may be pants, but at least one element of my sporting life is going to plan…

For the last couple of months I’ve been using the Beta version of Spotify, a superb new music platform with a very impressive looking business model and more promise than anything I’ve seen for ages.
What’s great about Spotify, apart from the neat client and simplicity of the service, is that it provides the first compelling alternative I’ve seen to getting your licks via illegal p2p and Usenet downloads. In fact, since having my beta account, I don’t think I’ve downloaded one track from anywhere else.
I get a lot of Spam. Most of it I never see. The other day I was reading a story about the disreputable recruitment agency Huxley Associates, and today, out of the Blue, I got this:

Now, I have a real problem with this sort of unsolicited and crappy mail when it’s sent from real companies based in Manchester. I’m not the only one either.
All I can say is that if I’m ever hiring or looking and these guys are involved, they’ve got no chance of getting past the front door. Huxley Associates are spammers, and that makes them scum. Nuff said.
In my News feed today: “ISPA MEETS WITH SHADOW ARTS MINISTER - ISPA Secretariat met with Shadow Arts Minister Ed Vaizey MP”
For a second I had a vision of a The Rt Hon Vaizey dancing round a bright light bulb and making birds fly across the walls with it’s hands.
In reality though, I think Ed Vaizey would be more properly called a Shadowy Arts Minister, along with the rest of the shadowy Tory cabinet.
I often refer to this call. So, for anyone who hasn’t heard this BT customer go mental, and the amazing work of the agent, it’s here:
One of the things I love about my job is that I get to talk to customers who are also real people (and we have some really great customers). A message I got today left me with a nice feeling about the world. I will just share the last response: Continue Reading »
Reminded me of more interesting times, customer service wise, at PlusNet. I don’t think we make customers this angry these days.

Credos to Mr Grice for capturing the true nature of this incident involving a particularly angry PlusNet customer who turned up at the office after being unable to connect to the Internet for over a week.
